What Is Reiki and What Can It Do for You?

Isn’t Reiki all just a bit Woo Woo?
Put the woo woo and magical connotations aside, as Reiki is not based on this; nor is it associated with any religion. It is in fact as natural as the sun in the sky.
Anyone, yes that includes you can tap into this subtle energy, it is a life force that runs through all living life forms.
So, What Is Reiki?
Reiki is an energy healing method that originated in Japan, so let’s have a look at what the word Reiki means. The first half of the word (Rei) means “Universal Life’’ the second half (Ki) means “Energy”.
We can say then that Reiki is a natural universal life force energy, and a Reiki practitioner is tuning into this energy to be a conduit for anyone who wishes to receive it.
A Reiki practitioner has generally completed both Reiki 1 and 2 courses if they wish to offer treatments to the public. Some will continue and complete a Masters course if they are drawn to offer training.
Globally, in recent years Reiki has become quite popular within public hospitals and private practices as an energy healing method for creating and maintaining a sense of wellbeing.
So, What Are the Benefits?
Covering a range of physical and emotional ailments the main potential benefits of a treatment are:
- Improved sleep
- Improved mood
- Pain relief
Reiki creates a state of relaxation and I have found for those of my Clients who experienced:
They were able to return to a state of natural balance and a sense of general wellness. Reiki creates the space for your body to come into balance and restore itself.
Here are a couple of quotes from my Clients:
“After a distant healing, I had a good night’s sleep and felt so relaxed and calm. What a difference I felt so much better the next day, really thankful” – Hazel
“After a particularly stressful time in my life, Lorraine managed to bring back some balance and tranquillity for me” – Vicki
The good thing is, it doesn’t matter whether your practitioner applies a light touch or works hands off. Whether you are sitting on a chair, laying on a therapy couch, or even having remote/distant healings at home; you’ll still receive the same great benefits.
And it’s good to know Reiki can be an excellent complement to your general health or wellness plan.
So, are you ready to give it a go?
